Celebrate the coming of Spring and Mardi Gras with Shine way. We offer you residential and commercial carpet cleaning, customized Janitorial services and specialty cleaning programs!

Happy Mardi Gras from Shine Way Services of Southern Minnesota! We serve all of Southern Minnesota so that includes Owatonna, Janesville, Waseca, Albert Lea, Faribault, Winnebago, Waldorf, Pemberton, Waterville, Medford, Blooming Prairie, Rochester, New Richland, and other close communities to those towns!

I can’t believe I'm talking about Spring when we are currently under a blizzard warning in our area, but that’s life in Minnesota for ya! A few more rounds of snow and a blast of salt from the roads and sidewalks, and we will be all set for spring cleaning which means that we can finally get rid of all of the winter residue on floors and carpeting for good and do those deep cleaning projects for you. In one of our previous blog posts, we mentioned that we perform specialty cleaning services and one of those services is high, overhead ceiling and wall cleaning. This service is a periodic service that we offer to commercial facilities. It is performed as often as is necessary for your particular facility. The need for overhead cleaning can vary from one building to another, depending on what type of processes that your company performs. For example, a print shop will generate a high amount of combustible dust that collects on ceilings, walls, fixtures and ducts. Due to the safety implications regarding combustible dust, OSHA has standards that must be met in order to be compliant and insurance companies follow this compliance requirement up with their own sets of requirements in order for a facility to be insurable. In addition to fulfilling requirements, companies have the safety of their employees and their clients as a significant priority, and rightly so! Air quality is paramount to employee health as is an environment that is safe from the threat of explosive fire and smoke, which can happen extremely quickly across a plant. In addition, the health and well-being of employees and clients is directly impacted by the aesthetics and cleanliness of their environment, therefore, a clean facility is a productive facility and promotes positive moral.

Shine Way can go beyond sprucing things up at your organization! We have the tools and the experience to go beyond basic janitorial services and provide more specialized services to companies across Southern Minnesota. Our owner, Chris, has a working knowledge of plant facility management due to his extensive experience as a plant manager and TPM consultant during his early career. Chris has experience in printing facilities, wood product manufacturing, silicon chip manufacturing and metal furniture industries. While we also own and operate our own wood furniture manufacturing company, Chris was involved with three other wood product manufacturing plants during his career, where he spent years implementing TPM and ran Kaizen events on a regular basis. Chris was heavily involved in spearheading and actively implementing many Lean Manufacturing and quality processes including 5S - so when we looked at purchasing a 50-year-old Janitorial company and then learned that the name was Shine Way, it struck a chord since the SHINE STEP immediately came to mind.

Combining this mind set with our years of experience in Janitorial, specialty services, deep cleaning protocols and commercial cleaning processes at companies in Minneapolis including all Apple stores of the Midwest sector was an exciting prospect for us! The Shine step isn’t something that necessarily had to be done internally, although all employees must also adhere to Shine as a regular part of their individual processes - it doesn’t have to be limited to employees only. For example, an employee can maintain their own work flow process but going outside of those parameters can be a hindrance to productivity! This is where Shine Way comes in as a partner in the Shine Step. There is much more to discuss regarding the partnership opportunities between Shine Way and Southern Minnesota businesses and that endeavor is the main purpose of this company blog. We might not know your particular business practices from a to z but we understand workflow processes in a way to make a significant difference to your organization.

The Shine Step doesn’t have to be formally recognized as part of the 5S process for it to be high on the priority list of running a productive company! There are many processes and protocols that have the same basic principles regarding what type of work process structure is the most cost effective without compromising quality and productivity. Shine has to be accomplished for the good of employees first which then benefits the organization as a whole. Shine Way exists as a new company as of November 2024, with a new model of standards and we hope that you will allow us the opportunity to partner with you so that you can ensure employee safety and productivity at your company.
